Tree Care
Cutting trees correctly is a essential task when looking after your garden, pruning is vital for controlled and healthy growth.
When pruning, the cuts you make will determine the overall shape of the crown of your tree as well as strengthening the existing branches and helping to prevent fungal growth.
We suggest you prune your trees in spring or late autumn rather than during winter.
Winter pruning should only be done very carefully as frost may damage fresh wood and slow down the natural healing process.
Branches should be cut at a distance of at least 1cm from the tree trunk to prevent damage; we suggest that when sawing a very thick branch that you do it in stages - in an effort to prevent a heavy branch from snapping mid-cut and damaging your tree in the process.
